What to do with leftover candy after Halloween? Or do you have a craving for a candy and a cookie at the same time? These cookies, made with Twix bars, are a yummy treat mixing candy and cookie!

It’s a basic cookie recipe with the twist of the Twix candy. Start by mixing the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Stir well together and set aside.

Open the Twix bars as they will need to be chopped. (Look at the helper hands today!)

Chop the Twix Bars

When we first started making these we would chop the Twix bars by using a meat tenderizer. We found this did not separate the caramel well enough. Now we recommend simply cutting into small pieces with a knife.

In another bowl, it’s time to mix the softened butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs.

Look who’s back! One of our favorite helpers in the kitchen. If you’ve followed this blog she’s been helping since the beginning. Now, at age 8, she can pretty much make most recipes by herself.

Using a hand mixer, blend all these ingredients together until well combined. Once well mixed, add the flour mixture in slowly until all combined.

Add the Twix bars last, using just a spoon to combine. At this point, if desired for more chocolate, add a cup of chocolate chips too!

Once all mixed together, place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This helps the dough become fluffier when baking.

Roll the chilled dough into 2” balls and place on a baking sheet. At this point, chop a few more Twix bars to place on top of the cookies right before popping in the oven.

Ready to bake! Check after 10 minutes and cook for up to 12 minutes total.

She’s pretty happy with how they turned out!
