More Cabo Adventures: E-bike Riding On the Beach

If you’ve read our adventures at all you’ll see we’ve had some great fun e-bike riding in new places. On my surprise birthday trip to Cabo, Steve included a day of e-bike riding…on a beach!

It was another beautiful day. We did take a tour that picked us up at the hotel as we booked with Cabo Adventures. We drove to the Pacific side outside of Cabo to begin our adventure.

But first, we had to stop at the tour company’s “Echo Park.” It was a bit silly but I know they were trying to give us a full adventure. I did meet these guys. One even wanted to give me a birthday kiss.

Then it was time to gear up for our ride. These guys did not mess around with safety. We were required to wear all of the gear. Not a pretty sight but I’m glad we had it.

When I’d heard about the trip, I thought we’d be taking a leisurely trip along the beach. That was the reward at the end. First, we had to ride up and through the desert terrain. We had both a front guide and a guide bringing up the rear. I was grateful for that, as at one point, I got separated from the group and took a wrong turn!

Steve loved every minute of it.

I was a little more apprehensive.

Full disclosure: There was a photographer that followed along on the whole trip. Of course, you had the opportunity to buy the photos at the end of the trip. In the end, I was glad, because otherwise we would not have had any pictures at all.

We were with another couple who actually owned e-bikes at home. They were much more comfortable going very fast. I, again was grateful that we had a guide who backed us up so I could go at my pace. FYI - my pace was about 12-14 mph in rocky dirt paths and deep sand.

Riding in the Mexican Desert

The wider tires on the bikes definitely made it easier to ride on the rough terrain.

Finally, after about an hour and a half we made it to the beach! It was beautiful.

Kind of a cheesy pose, but hey, we just finished an exhilarating e-bike ride through the desert ending on the beach along the Pacific Ocean!

Now the work was over it was time for a margarita making class and then lunch. Our tour guide doubled as a mixologist teaching us how to make a very simple, fresh margarita.

It was easy: 4 parts fresh lime juice, 2 parts silver tequila, 1 part simple syrup and 1 part orange liquor.

They were actually quite good. He was an excellent teacher.

Mexican Lunch

They served a traditional Mexican style lunch. All of this for just about $100 USD for the entire day! It was well worth it. The tour group we used was Cabo Adventures.

It was an hour back to the hotel. We took a nice nap in the van.
