Homemade Croutons
There are things we wonder why we don’t always make from scratch. Great croutons for a salad is one of them. These have been made for years in our house, and we’re happy to be sharing them with you. With just 4 simple ingredients and a few minutes in the oven, these delicious croutons will stop your store buying and leave everyone wanting more!
Start by cutting a baguette into cubes. For this recipe, you’ll only need half of the baguette.
An immersion blender works best to mix the ingredients, so melt the butter in a deep vessel. Add the olive oil.
Grate the parmesan into the oil and butter.
Blend the oil, melted butter and cheese with the immersion blender.
Place the crouton cubes into a bowl. Pour the butter mixture over the bread cubes. Mix well.
Place the coated cubes onto a parchment covered baking sheet. Bake at 425 for about 10 minutes, until crispy. Keep an eye on them, as the croutons will burn quickly.
Crunchy on the Outside
And soft on the inside, packed with great flavor. These will keep in an airtight container for several days. (unless your crew gobbles them up sooner!)
